Updates

So many things to report..

First I can actually type normal, that's a plus haha. Meaning I use both hands not my index fingers.

Second we got a new laptop and I absolutely LOVE it! Curt was researching computers for the longest time and we finally decided on the Macbook Air. Oh my gosh! It's so fast and has so many cool things, that I don't think I'll go back to PC haha.

Third we got to go to Flagstaff two weekends in a row and had some awesome fun at the Porter Family reunion. We go every year and I can never get enough of the awesome cool weather. I'm so grateful to have such sweet and loving extended family ;) We are greatly blessed.

As for my wrist, I have a lot of stiffness still, but I have more mobility and I'm able to do more things. Everyday is a challenge, but it has helped me grow in so many ways. I constantly thank my Heavenly Father for protecting me and my sweet  kids. Here are some fun pictures for your viewing entertainment

Blessings

So many of you may know this already, but I was unfortunately in a car accident last Wednesday night heading home from my parents house. I was following all the rules and laws, but because of someone else not doing so I'm paying the price of a wrist fracture.

The whole experience was surreal. It just seemed like a regular old day and BOOM my whole world was changed in a matter of minutes. My first instinct was to look back and check to see if my kids were ok. They seemed alright, but instantly began crying once they registered what happened. I got out of the car to realize that my left wrist was in pain and looked pretty deformed. I was unable to get my kids out and I was blessed to have a sweet couple that was driving behind me to help.  I'm so grateful that out of the six people involved in the accident (2 cars- mine and the other) I was the only one injured.

I got to the ER around 11:20ish and didnt get into a small room until 1am. I went into surgery Thursday afternoon and didn't get discharged until the next day. Right before I was discharged the Physician's Assistant came in to check on me and said that my wrist fracture was one of the worst they've ever seen. He said usually wrist fracture surgeries take a half hour but mine took an hour and a half. Crazy!!!

On the bright side Curtis never ceases to joke haha. His comment as soon as he arrived at the scene was "Ashley you have this tendency of wrecking our cars at the most opportune moments." And then smiles. So here's the background on that...A month after we were married I totaled my Ceclica and we had been discussing children saying that we were going to need to sel it. No need when it's totaled lol. And now with this car we had been shopping for a van for a month and test drove one on Monday last week, liked it and made an offer Tuesday they accepted set a loan closing for Friday and then my accident the next day. Pretty uncanny timing of it all.

I'd like to thank all the wonderful people who have helped me and my family through this. And to my sweet and loving Heavenly Father for protecting all of us from serious harm.

Every generation has someone who stands above the rest at a particular activity.

Napoleon was a great general and strategist.

Ashley Robinson has incredible skills as well. I would say that she is the best in the world at these skills.

Notice the grandeur of the height she has achieved. The perfection of the placement. The effectiveness of the drainability.

This would indeed be a great accomplishment if she did this once. But she does it time and again, with equal grace.

Dog

So Stella has been wanting a dog ever since my sister got one. To fulfill this need of hers she pretends that Lincoln is her dog and calls him Milo. So today Lincoln shows up in our bedroom with a purple tutu on and Curtis asks Stella "Did you put that on your brother?" Stella's response "What brother?" Curtis "Did you put that on your dog?" Stella, who was completely serious said, "Yes I did."

Wicked!

I heart plays! I totally wish we were rich to be able to see more! Anyways Curtis got us tickets to see Wicked this last Tuesday at Gammage. And all I can say is "WOW!" It was amazing! The story was good, the singing was so powerful! I want to go again haha.

Another cool part of our date was that I got to see a really neat soda machine. Yeah you're probably thinking what's so cool about a soda machine? Well it was a touch screen and that wasn't even the coolest part?!!! When you chose a soda it had like a million different combinations of that soda! Curtis called me a nerd, but I totally took a picture of it for you viewing pleasure haha.

Snow Day!

Snow is so much fun! We had the opportunity to spend some time in the snow today with my friends Shalyse and Chase and their cute kids. Stella and Lincoln had a blast! My mom also was able to come and she enjoyed going sledding for the first time.
I really wish I had my video camera when my mom went down haha. At first I didn't think she would want to go, but then Chase announced that she was coming down and FWOOSH off she went. The sled was hard to control and I thought she was going to crash into some tree branches, but luckily she steered away. At the bottom another lady was trying to figure out how to avoid my mom's path, but instead got crashed into and fell on top of my mom! I was worried, but my mom had a huge smile and was laughing. She had fun, but she did get her hand scratched up pretty bad from the branches.

All in all it was super fun! Stella loved going down the hill with the sled and Lincoln did too, but at first he was pretty scared.

Bad Habits

Stella, my sweet child has a habit of waking up and getting into our bed. As of late she has been a lot better though. Anyway, I went to my bedroom after putting the kids to bed and what do I find in my bed....Not just sweet Stella, but another little body Mr. Lincoln! I cracked up and said Curtis you need to come see this. He laughed too.

What are we going to do about these cute kids haha.

Slacker, but there is a reason for it

So beginning of November my laptop just shut down and we got it fixed, but now it doesn't connect to the internet. So now we have a desktop and laptop that don't connect to the internet LAME!

We decided to get a new laptop on Black Friday and it was Curtis's first experience. He seemed pretty deteremined since he waited in line for 4 HOURS for the laptop.

Ok so what has been going on with us a quick over view:
In September we got the chance to go to Disneyland with my friend Shalyse and her family. Stella absolutely LOVED it! She really wanted to challenge Darth Vader in their Star Wars play thing. She was tall enough to ride the Matter Horn and Curtis was super excited about that. He convinced her that the abominable snow man was just a big white teddy bear, so she would go on it more than once. haha

In October Stella Mae turned 3 and she had a friend party. She had so much fun helping me and watching me get her monkey invitations made and delivered. She loved having friends over, playing, eating snacks and her monkey cake. THANKS to all her sweet friends and cousins that came :)
For Halloween Stella dressed up as Princess Leia and not to brag, but she made a super cute Princess. Lincoln dressed up as an Ewok and he was awesome! He definitely knew what candy was and was ready to get more and more at each house lol.

In November we had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma Jean's. The Monday before I woke up feeling sick and hoped to feel better by Thursday. Unfortunately I woke up still not well and even throwing up. I said a prayer and had my sweet mom make me a home remedy and was blessed to feel better and spend time with family. I am so grateful for the power of prayer, a loving & supportive husband, two beautiful and healthy children, the gospel, our health, an education, a home, food, Curtis's job, my job, friends, family, Christ's atonement and so many more things.

In December I had the opportunity to participate in my first ever boutique and it went ok for me. :) Some friends and I started a crafting blog where we'll sell our handmade crafts. It's called CraftySenoritas.blogspot.com. It looks pretty ghetto right now, but hopefully we'll dedicate some time in making it look awesome!

Summer fun

It's true, when it comes to updating this thing I am the BIGGEST slacker of all time. It may seem like there's nothing going on in our boring lives, but lets be serious....I have a Stella and a Lincoln to entertain my days :)

What we have been up to:

The end of May Curtis' good buddy Josh was in town with his wife Melissa and we went to the AZ Science Center. I've been there a few times, but I still love it. It was soo cute to hear Stella say "I do science," every time she would go into a different room or try a different experiment. We had a lot of fun, and Stella liked hanging out with Josh and Melissa. She even invited them over to her house by saying "You go my house? Yeah you go my house." It was pretty funny.

In the beginning of June Lincoln shared a birthday party with his Uncle Clarkie. We got to go to the family reunion. And towards the end of June we got to go to Grandma's Cabin again with Nancy, Grandma Jean, Grandma Jean's friend Aiko, Ben, Clark, Olivia and Ben's friend Kawika and his brother Kalani (not sure if I'm spelling those right lol). It was a blast!

July we got to go to the cabin yet again for another reunion and the following week my mom and the kids and I went up with Grandma Jean, Nancy, Olivia, Ben and Marie was there with her little ones. It was so much fun! My mom loved it! We pretty much went on quad and prowler rides the WHOLE TIME! haha. I told Curtis he needs to get me a quad. To end the summer we went to a ward family campout, which was pretty fun. Stella sure knows how to flirt it up. Her crush Denson was there and he was a good sport to let Stella follow him around and talk his ear off haha.

My Dream Car

I have recently informed Curtis that I need a new car and that I refuse to settle for something that is not cute. I figure a cute car is like cute clothes and if I drive a cute car, then I will look cuter.

The problem is, Curtis absolutely refuses to have a car payment.

So he did some research and found a new dream car for me. It would be affordable but still classy. A very classic look. Driving it will definitely make me look cute.

I am so thankful to have such a sweet husband. If he refuses to buy me my dream car, he would take the time to find me a new dream car. That is true love, in my opinion.

So now, the moment you have all been waiting for... The unveiling of my new and improved dream car:



Yes, that is right. A station wagon!

But not just any station wagon. Curtis promises that he will buy me something really tasteful. He absolutely insists that there be wood paneling- but not just any wood paneling. He won't buy anything that looks like cheap soft wood. It will definitely be something that looks like expensive, classy hardwoods (we're thinking cherry wood or mahogany).

He also insists that I have the most convenient option. That's right ladies, we're talking third row rear facing seats.



Now, I know it is probably bad form to brag about a car I don't even own yet. But this next feature is so amazing, I can't help myself. Curtis says that since we will save so much money, we may even be able to paint the hood with a cool flame design.



I'm so thankful to my sweet husband. All this time I thought I wanted a car like a Mazda CX-9, Honda Pilot or a Nissan Armada, but all I really needed was for my awesome husband to show me what I really wanted.
