July 4th Weekend

Yay for family reunions. We got to go to the cabin this weekend and enjoy the nice cool weather and hanging out with the fam! I started to make a skirt for Stella, but was unsuccessful in finishing it (I'll hopefully do so some time haha).
Lincoln was such an amazing baby going up to the cabin, at the cabin and going back home. He just ate, slept, made some stinky diapers and enjoyed everyone carrying him. For the first time in his 3 weeks of life he slept through the WHOLE NIGHT! I know crazy huh? I was so impressed and hopefully he continues to do so. Yay! Here a few pictures. I need to get in a better habit of taking more.
Stella loves her baby brother! To eat him that is hehe

No other way to spend your time at the cabin :) Nice and dirty!

Fun on the swing

Ate some of Nana's yummy smoothie! MMMMmm

New addition to the Family

So probably a lot of you already know that I had my baby boy June 8, 2010. I've been really bad at updating this blog, but I'm going to try my best to do better. Lincoln was born weighing a whopping 9lbs 7.5oz and 22.5in long. Yeah he was HUGE!! I was in labor for a while because I experienced contractions for a whole 2 weeks sporatically. (Crazy I know haha) On Tuesday (June 8th) at 4:30ish a.m. I just couldn't get comfortable and the contractions were becoming more painful. So we went to the hospital and got admitted into triage and waited there for a couple hours before we got a labor/delivery room. Once in there the Dr. came in and said your platelet count is at 70k so it's pretty low. We want to have this baby fast, so we can have healthy mom and baby. So she said she would give me a couple of hours to progress on my on, but if I didn't she would use pitocin to augment the labor. Well it ended up happening and let me tell you that was not fun, especially with no epidural! Another couple of hours passed by and luckily I was making significant progress; otherwise they said that I would have to be put under and have another c-section. I freaked out when she told me that. I am so glad and thankful that I had a doula, Tracy Halliday, there to calm me down and help me through it along with a sweet husband. A few more hours passed by and they said that I was fully dilated and everything, but Mr. Lincoln was being a stubborn and not facing the right direction. Luckily there was a doctor on call that took over for the stressful one phew! She was awesome!!! She tried flipping Lincoln around and this process took FOUR TIMES before finally he progressed down. This was super painful and I thank my Heavenly Father for being there to comfort me. When it was all said and done they put him on me and it is a special moment. :) Pictures of the experience will follow later. My doula took care of that.
FYI: These pictures are not very flattering. Don't judge. hahah

Especially this one lol

Bee Sting

We decided to go to Nana's house to go swimming to relieve some of the pressure of carrying a fat belly haha. Stella loves the water (even when it's pretty chilly). So we didn't expect the reaction of her crying when we slowly put her in the pool feet first. We were sitting there and trying to figure it out and then Curtis leaned her forward and she had a red patch on her back. I saw a stinger sticking out of her skin. I took it out right away and then she seemed fine after that. We swam for a while and the cool water on the sting seemed to help it. She is one tough girl! I'm proud of her. I don't know if I would have handled it as good as her haha.

Another 24hr Urine Sample Ughhh

Well so far this pregnancy has been pretty good. All of my lab work and stuff has been coming up stable and normal. I had to do a 24hr urine sample during my first trimester to get baseline readings of everything, so the doctors would know if anything was up later. I just had to do another one for my 3rd trimester baseline readings, which came back ok, but I did have protein show up. So at my dr's appointment today, she said that considering my preeclampsia history, she wants me to do yet another 24hr urine sample just to be safe. Yuck!!! I hate having to keep track of my pee! It's lame! I'm pretty much confined to my home for 24hrs. Hopefully everything comes back normal. But on a happy note, the doctor did say that my blood pressure and everything else was looking good. So keep your fingers crossed that everything stays well :0) 3 1/2 more weeks to go yippee! Can't wait to see this little boy.

Date Night and Stella the Acrobat

For Mother's day, Curtis bought me 3 books, which I'm pretty excited about. And he wanted to take me out to see a movie. So we called Ben up and had him come over to watch Stella. We headed out, bought some Coldstone because I was craving it and bought our tickets to Clash of the Titans. Now I'm a fan of the old school movie, so when I saw this one I thought it was ok; but it is totally unrelated to the old one. I was a bit sad about that. It was still good though, plenty of cool graphics and action. Anyway towards the end of the movie I get a call from Ben (on Curtis's cell). I turn to Curtis and ask if I should take it and he just nods (obviously sucked up in the movie lol). So I text him and ask if anything is wrong. He calls again, I miss it. So I decide to get up and call him in the hall, since it must be something important; because he usually never calls. He answers and says: "Um Stella doesn't want to go to bed." Me: "Oh well usually Curtis and I just rock her a little bit and put in the crib and let her cry." Ben: "Well she climbed out of her crib." Me: "What!?? Oh did you put her in the toddler bed, because she would get out of that." Ben: "No the crib crib, she climbed out." Me: "Are you sure? How did she do that?" Ben: "I don't know." Me: "Ok well the movie is almost over, so we'll be headed home in a bit." I basically miss the end of the movie except for a little chunk, but Curtis has the courtesy of telling me about it on the drive home. We get there and Stella is just happy as can be playing halo with her uncle Ben on the couch. He explained how she lifted herself up and out of the crib and somehow maneuvered herself to hang on the railing and fall backward. Crazy! I still can't get over how she did it, but I'm considering putting her in gymnastics now hahah.

Accessorize

Stella's favorite thing to do is walk in mom's high heels and basically anyone's shoes rather than her own lol. I wish I captured her when she was supposedly talking on the cell phone, carrying my purse and walking in heels. She's definately going to be an accessory girl. Bye bye savings haha.

Crazy hair day

So I had given Stella a bath to help her relax and take a nap. When I had put her down her hair was still kind of wet. When she woke up it was crazy curls all over! I made a mental note not to do that again haha.
