Momentous Occasion...

Today was the official day that Stella began sleep in her crib. She has been sleeping either in her carseat or her swing because it helps her with her stuffy nose. But I finally organized her room and her crib is no longer a storage area for her clothes lol. She absolutely loves her mobile and gets real excited when I play it for her. She's a pretty smart baby.

Chilly winter

Well it's definately been getting colder outside. But to make things worse is the fact that our heater broke. It hasn't been working for 3 or so days now....Not fun. So I've been bundling Stella up really nice, so she won't get sick. Here's a fun little pic of her sleeping on our bed with 2 layers of blankets.

Mama's Best Gift

I didn't take many pictures on Christmas day, but we filmed alot on our new camera. That thing is so nice and handy. We captured moments that we wouldn't have captured on a still photo. Here are some cute pictures of our tree and little Stella in her christmas onsie. If I figure out how to shorten video maybe I'll try and post some of it later.

Cooing

Stella has been cooing for the past couple of weeks now. I'm not sure if she's early or right on time compared to all other babies, but I guess every baby is different. She sounds sooo cute! But every time I try to capture it on video, she stops. I don't know what it is but I think she's too smart for her own good haha. I finally caught a mini moment of it on my camera phone. It's only a few seconds long, hopefully the quality is alright. :0)

Zoolights!

I have been wanting to go to Zoolights for the last 3yrs and I finally went! And best of all I got to share this momentous occasion with my sweet family. I received the Zoolights tickets as a an early christmas present from my sister-in-law Jessica. I was sooo excited! It was a pretty chilly night and I was worried that Stella would be fussy, but she was doing so good. Curtis picked her up after only being there 10min. We made our way through and it was so nice to see all sorts of animal light designs. We got to a place where there were trees that were all lit up from trunk to top. These were no ordinary decorated trees, they moved in motion to a piece of music. It was so cool! I believe the piece of music was from the Nutcracker, but it was a rock kind of version. Stella was mesmorized by it. She just tracked the trees and looked in aww. :0) It was so cute to see her.

Stella got her ears pierced!

Well I was debating for some time about whether or not to get Stella's ears pierced. It's kind of a tradition that my family has. My mom ears pierced my ears, as well as my two sisters, when we were just babies. So I finally decided that I'm going to continue with the tradition. My mom came over with her supplies and got down to business. I was in the other room while my mom did the actual poking. I was expecting loud crying from Stella, but all I heard was a small yelp and that was it. My mom called me in and Stella looked adorable. She was all drowsy lol. Anyway I'm glad I followed through with the tradition. Before she got them pierced Later that night after her bath

Baby Blessing

Today was the big day for Stella, she got blessed. She looked adorable in her little blessing dress. I had bought it about 2-3 weeks early and was worried she wouldn't fit in it by the time it was her blessing day lol. She has been growing so fast it seems. I'm loving every minute of it though. My friends Jereld Brewer and Derric Crandell attended the blessing and participated in the circle, which I thought was pretty cool. And what was even more cool was the fact that my sister Trisha attended. I was so happy to see her there.

Cousin pictures and 6 weeks old!

It's finally starting to get more and more chilly outside. Today was a fun picture day with Stella's cousins Roxy and Rhett. Rhett didn't want to cooperate too much, so here are a few cute poses of Stella and Roxy. Also keep in mind that Roxy is 3 weeks older than Stella and she's only a bit bigger than Stella lol. Stella is a big baby!

Fun Dress up day!

I decided to get Stella all dolled up for a photo shoot. I needed some more cute pictures for a scrapbook page that I'm doing for Curtis's Grandma's journal that she does every year with updates from all of her children and grandchildren. It's pretty neat when it's all done.

Stella is 4 weeks and looking cuter than ever! Today her daddy left on an overnight scouting trip, so I decided to visit my parents and caught this moment with her cousin Kylee; who is two months older than her.

Baby Stella Finally Arrived!!

I went in on Sunday October 19, 2008 to get induced thinking I would be in the hospital only for a couple of days. Little did I know that it would be a whole week! After 18hrs of labor without an epidural the aenesthesiologist came in and offered the epidural after giving me tons of blood transfusions. You may be wondering, why did she need blood transfusions...well I had what you call P.I.H. (Pregnancy Induced Hypertension) and I was unable to get the epidural earlier because of it. I was so determined to have this baby the regular way, but after much waiting for her to come out on her own, Dr. Huff said that they were going to do a C-Section. I wasn’t progressing in my dilation; I stayed between 7 and 8cm. I was so sad and disappointed after all that work, but I was relieved to get her out safe and sound. At 7:30pm she was born. The first things I heard from the doctors and nurses in the surgery room were “Whoa, that’s a big baby, she can be a linebacker.” I couldn’t believe how big she was! She didn’t even look like a newborn. She weighed 8lbs. 9.5oz. and was 19.5in long. Huge! No wonder she couldn't make her way out of the birth canal lol. The waiting game for the baby to arrive was finally over! I was so relieved to have her out and healthy. Now it was just waiting on my results from the P.I.H. They should've gotten normal, since the cure for it is to deliver the baby. It turned out that my levels were still not good and I had to stay in the hospital. Finally by Friday I thought it would be over, but they kept me for one more day of observation. I was so happy to leave on Saturday and enjoy my little one in my own comfortable home.

Graduation!

Yay! I finally graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology! It feels awesome to be done with school. Now all that there is left to do is be a mommy. I'm so excited to be a mom. Today was a fun and busy day. I walked in the morning and received my diploma and then afterward went out to eat at Sweet Cakes with my parents-in-law, my mom, Curtis and my sister-in-law Olivia. All sorts of cookies and treats were bought and everything was shared. Such a fun and accomplishing day!
